This course will examine the importance of relationship building in the performance of special inspections. Participants will reflect on and practice nonviolent communication toward resolving scenarios representative of common job-site conflicts.
For those who attended our CEU course in October, this is the continuation of that training.
After completing this course participants will be able to…
- Demonstrate the role trust and rapport play in facilitating the work of the special inspector.
- Distinguish activities and behaviors likely to build trust and rapport from those that harm them.
- Use non-violent communication techniques to de-escalate conflicts and resolve common job-site issues.
This class will include group activities that will require participants to work in breakout groups to discuss and resolve various on the job scenarios. Participants are expected to come with a positive attitude and a willingness to engage in lively, professional debate about the work we do each day.
This course is 4 classroom hours worth 0.4 ICC continuing education units.
